HOTB-Misc-01 SPECIAL Part #1 - A Short Film Comedy
"SPECIAL" Part #1 - HEART of the BEHOLDER was up and down Hollywood development hell for years. A top talent agency finally wanted to make our movie. But they didn't want our writer, Ken Tipton, to direct it because he had no experience. The talent agency challenged us to shoot anything that might show that Ken had any talent for directing. We entered a film festival where you had 48 hours to produce, write, shoot, and edit a short film. We were given the category of "Comedy" and this line of dialogue to use: "You tricked me." We picked a personal story that Ken had used in his standup comedy routine and rewrote it. We then hired a boy named Taylor Ball from Texas. Taylor was new in Hollywood making his first auditions for pilot season. We didn't finish in time for the film festival. So we polished the short film and let the talent agency view it. They liked it, but not enough to let Ken direct his own script. Ken turned down their meager offer for the screenplay and we moved on. However, the talent agency loved Taylor Ball and signed him. Taylor is now a series regular on the CBS sitcom, "Still Standing".

HOTB-Misc-05 Patrick Tipton - Star Trek The Next Generation Fan
It took our Writer/Director, Ken Tipton, over 12 years to get his family's movie made. The best thing about production was having three of his kids come and work as Production Assistants. 16 year old Patrick Tipton has always been a big fan of Star Trek - The Next Generation. Having Micheal Dorn, who is "Worf" on STNG, play a role in our family's movie was a genuine pleasure, especially for Patrick. Here is some family home video of Patrick when he was two watching STNG. Whenever it would come on we had to be very quiet during the opening so Pat could get into "trekker" mode.
HOTB-Misc-06 The Sour Gum Incident
Laura, Paul, and Patrick Tipton worked as Production Assistants on our family's movie - HEART of the BEHOLDER. Here is some funny home video footage before we lost our video stores and were bankrupted by the National Federation for Decency and the corrupt Prosecutor they had blackmailed.
HOTB-Misc-07 Dad Gets Busted
A hidden video camera was setup to make sure Laura and Paul Tipton were doing their chores. But it wasn't the kids who got into trouble. It was Dad, Ken Tipton, who was busted.
